Nana Kwadwo Tanno II holds End of Year Fora with the People of Breman Fawomanyo

Nana Tanno II meating a section of the Community in the Palace

As his duty to the people of Fawomanyo, Nana Tano II met with the different hierarchies of the community at the end of the year (2016) interacting with them to express his gratitude and comportment as well as support towards advancing the course of development in the community. The three groups include; The Community Members, The Nananom as well as the Town Development Implementation Team. At each of these meetings the God-factor played a key role as Nana used the scriptures as the basis for the discussions with the different groups.

Nana Tano II also used the opportunity for the Christmas season to draw the attention of His people to the Salvation that Christs’ birth brought to humanity and how the people of Fawomanyo should take advantage of the great treasures and provisions available in Jesus. The meeting with the Community Members turned into a mini revival crusade.

Nana Tano II used the opportunity to outline his vision for the year 2017 after listening to the needs, aspirations and hope of his people for the coming year. Some of the aspirations of the people as grouped from the community in order of priority include as follows;

A Section of the Elders in the Meeting with Nana Tanno II

The community in meeting with thier Chief

1.    Water, Sewer and Sanitation;
a.    Water: the community currently lack a reliable source of potable water. The current source of drinking water is from the streams that surround the Fawomanyo (River Island). The water in the community tastes salty hence the resort to the stream for water for domestic purposes. There is an urgent need for a water purification system to treat water for domestic purposes for the members of the community.
b.    Members of the community echoed as urgent need is the construction of drainage channels especially through the centre of the community. This has badly affected vehicular transportation through the community and aggravated erosion of the inner town and some houses.
c.    The community does not have a comprehensive and organized communal waste collection and disposal system. Though there is household level waste management system, its lacks the appropriate disposal
2.    All year farming is another urgent need the community exuded in 2017. Having the community surrounded by rivers, the farmers expressed the willingness to have an all year round cultivation. The strategy is to dam the rivers to enable market gardening during the lean seasons.
3.    Strong on the agenda at the end of year engagement with the community was the need and plan to hold a grand durbar in 2017. This durbar was scheduled to be held around August 2017 when the various projects would be officially launch and raise support from stakeholders, sponsors, well-wishers and philanthropists  to donate towards the realization of transformation in the lives of the people of Fawomanyo.  Currently in its planning stage the Durbar would be held in August and scheduled to take a 21-day or a month long schedule of different weekly activities such as;
1.    Communal labour to clean and create a sustainable communal habit of cleanliness
2.    A medical screening and offering of medical consultation and support to the populace and the adjoining communities.
3.    Agric education and sensitization to boost yields for farmers.
4.    Job fair for students and other groups in the community.
Nana Tano II reiterated his determination to pursue a “Leaving no one Behind Policy” in order to cater for the needs and help the community reach their aspirations of development and self-dignity.

Another meeting in the Community under some trees

The donation included bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil and some cash. In return Nananom also as a gesture of appreciation donated some food stuff like cassava and plantain to Nana.
